Built by the Cheek family (best known for Maxwell House Coffee) in 1932. The family lived in
the home until the 1950's when they then decided to offer it as a site for an art museum &
botanical garden. It has been open to the public since 1960.
It's now home to many permanent & temporary art collections and exhibits, as well as
botanical gardens and a restaurant and gift shop.
